For customers with battery or solar systems that are not yet compatible with Amber for Batteries' SmartShift optimisation, there are a number of third party automations you can take advantage of in the meantime. These automations generally use real-time pricing data from Amber to automate your device.
There are a few important things to keep in mind when using a third party automation
- These automations are not SmartShift, and customers do not get the Amber for Batteries experience within the Amber app.
- As the automation is managed by the third party, any questions relating to your automation onboarding or performance will need to be handled directly with the automation partner, not with Amber.
- Eligibility for government rebates is not guaranteed through third parties. Please confirm eligibility for the Cheaper Home Batteries Program, New South Wales Battery Rebates and South Australia battery rebates prior to joining.
- Please ensure you understand what parts of your system will be automated (e.g. whether solar can be curtailed) and what level of manual commands are possible.
We are constantly working on becoming directly compatible with more battery and solar brands. If you are not currently an Amber customer, join our waitlist and we can reach out to let you know when your battery becomes compatible with SmartShift: Join Waitlist.
Evergen
With Amber expanding the number of solar, battery and EV systems that are compatible with SmartShift, and Evergen focusing on their B2B services, Amber and Evergen have agreed to retire our joint offering.
