SmartShift Labs: try new features early
We're always working on new ways to help your battery do more, save more, and keep you covered. SmartShift Labs is a space in the Amber app where you can try new SmartShift features early and tell us how they go.
Think of it as a first look at what we're building. The features in Labs are still being tested, so they might change or be retired as we learn. You can turn them on or off anytime, and your feedback helps shape what we build next.
What's in Labs at the moment
Earnings Optimiser Plus
A more active version of Earnings Optimiser mode. It acts on smaller earning opportunities, not just the bigger ones, so your battery trades more often through the day. It works your battery harder, and while it can earn more on some days, results vary depending on your setup.
Give it a go, and switch back to standard Earnings Optimiser whenever you like.
Demand window buffer
ℹ️ For customers on a demand tariff only
You may have read about this in our update on 10 August. It keeps your battery at 80% or above before your demand window, so you're covered on days you need more than forecast, rather than drawing from the grid. It's already on for demand-tariff customers, and now it has a place in the app where you can see it and turn it off anytime.
How to find it
Open the Amber app, head to Devices, then SmartShift settings, and tap SmartShift Labs.
Tell us how it goes
The whole point of Labs is to build with you. Each feature has a feedback option, tell us what's working, what isn't, or anything that felt off. It genuinely shapes what we do next.
