Coukd be excellent but seems to have waves of problems.
My nattery discharged 50% one night last week at about 30c. Then there was $20 FiT, no discharge. I looked directly i to my Sungrow inverter and instructed it.
And, have random grid use when plenty of battery and even solar power. Sometimes grid is charging battery when plenty of solar.
About 2 months of emails to Amber, no reply.
Am guessing this forum about as useless too.
If you have a sungrow inverter, I can give work instruction on how to instruct discharge and stop it.
Haven't had a daily usage update for a week either. Very frustrating experience.
I've been with amber for about month. I've found act doesn't fluctuate much at all so using smart shift is useless, it charges at peak times and during the night and I end up paying way more than if I was managing. The prices hardly move yet I see others in different states getting wild spikes. Any reason
With isolarcloud ap now being able to instruct charging and discharging, if youre prepared to manage your system manually, all smartshift is needed for is curtailment of solar export to grid.
Last night smartshift all but emptied my battery when FiT exceeded .15c, which is the only time it works for discharging, thankfully. I stopped it in time, otherwise I would have been paying 40c a kwh in the early mornjng next day.
This stuff really shouldn't be hard to fix, even with a few more user controls, to, say, set the minimum SoC% a smartshift discharge can go to. I know I need about 16% SoC to get me through to morning lunch. Why doesn't "smart" shift? If I got set it, all the better.
