I can’t authorise my Tesla vehicle

If you are unable to proceed to Begin Linking, please check the following:
- You are logged in and can see the Tesla vehicle in your Tesla app on the same mobile device
- You are using the account that owns the Tesla vehicle you wish to automate
- You have given permission to all of the options above available within the permissions screen on the Tesla app
If you've checked on the above points, please send us an email at ev-support@amber.com.au
Why do I need to give Amber permission in my Tesla account?
In order to automate your Tesla with Amber for EVs we need to be able to both send commands and receive information about what your vehicle is doing.
- Vehicle Information: This lets us understand whether your vehicle is at home and how much charge it currently contains
- Vehicle Charging Management: This allows us to send commands to start and stop charging your Tesla automatically
I own multiple Teslas - how do I complete onboarding?
We can currently only enrol one of your Tesla EVs to be automated. Our automated onboarding flow now allows you to select which of your EVs you would like to link. Please select the vehicle you'd like to link to Amber through the Amber app. You will see a screen like this below during onboarding:
I can’t complete the Tesla checks
When completing Tesla checks, first complete onboarding up to the Performing Checks screen (see below screenshot):
If you see an error like this...
... Please ensure that you have met the following requirements:
- Your Tesla is at home
- Your Tesla is able to connect to the internet when parked at your home
- Your Tesla is plugged into a charger
- Your Tesla is below it’s maximum charge threshold
- This is the value set in your Tesla app
If you’ve checked the above points, but are still stuck with the Tesla checks, please send us an email at ev-support@amber.com.au
The app screen is taking me back to the start of onboarding
During EV onboarding the Amber app will show the below screen whenever you click back into the EV entrance through the app settings page. Although it may look like the onboarding has jumped back to the start, this is not the case. Please click on the "Awesome - let's begin!" button to resume onboarding where you last left off.
