Who is this tariff good for?
96200 offers an extra 12.2c/kWh on top of the wholesale feed-in price for electricity exported between 5pm–8pm, every day during November–March. This makes it a strong option if:
- ✅ You have enough battery capacity to export between 5pm-8pm during November–March
- ✅ You can self-consume your solar between 11am-1pm during April–October to keep middle-of-the-day exports low (hot water systems, pool pumps, EV charging, excess battery capacity and solar curtailment)
- ❌ Don't switch if you can't manage solar exports during the day in April–October and can't export during the evening in November–March
How does this compare to my current tariff?
Amber passes through network tariff costs directly. Network tariff costs impact what you pay / earn on top of wholesale prices at Amber. The Live Prices screen will reflect your network tariff.

If you have capacity to export in the evening, there’s a strong case for switching

Things to consider before switching
- You can request to opt out at any time. Contact Amber to request a switch to another eligible network tariff (6900 or 3900)
- This is a trial. Participation requires Energex’s acceptance and agreement to its data-sharing and customer engagement conditions. The trial is scheduled to end on 30 June 2027, but Energex may extend or end it early. Review the full trial terms before requesting a switch
- Assess whether you have energy available for evening exports. If household usage, battery reserve or export limits leave little to export between 5pm–8pm during November–March, the upside is lower
- The reward and charge apply in different seasons. There is no network export reward during April–October, when the 11am–1pm export charge applies
