Due to recent changes at GivEnergy, our ability to support the integration with SmartShift will be discontinued.
GivEnergy have unfortunately entered voluntary administration, which means there are a few changes that take place on our end.
The GivEnergy support teams who previously helped both their customers and the developer channels we use to keep these integrations running smoothly, have been wound back. Without that operational support, we're unable to keep our integration with GivEnergy devices running at the standard you'd expect from SmartShift.
What's changing
From today, we're no longer accepting new SmartShift registrations for GivEnergy systems.
We know that may be disappointing, especially if you were about to register your device with SmartShift - but we'd rather be upfront, instead of allowing continued registrations for something that we can't confidently stand behind.
SmartShift only does its job when we can rely on a steady, well-supported connection to your solar or battery system, and right now we can't promise that for GivEnergy systems.
If you're already connected
If your GivEnergy system is already connected to SmartShift, it may continue working just as it does today. You don't need to do anything and we're not switching anything off.
However, it's important to note that we can't guarantee things will stay stable long term.
With GivEnergy's support significantly wound back, there may be changes down the track that are outside of our control. If you do begin to experience issues with how SmartShift interacts with your site, we will still attempt to resolve things for you - but unfortunately our capabilities will be extremely limited.
We'll keep watching how things develop and update this page if the situation changes.
If you've got any questions about your setup in the meantime, please feel free to get in touch and we'll do our best to assist.
