Charge HQ shutdown FAQs

Why is Charge HQ closing?

Charge HQ solved a real problem for a lot of EV drivers, and so this is not a decision we took lightly. The bigger opportunity for EV owners has shifted to Vehicle- to- Grid (V2G) charging, whole-of-site optimisation across solar, batteries and EVs and expanding support across more EV makes, models and home charger brands. Rather than maintain a separate product, we're focusing resources on building the best EV experience for Amber customers.

Subscriptions

Will I be charged again for Charge HQ?

No further charges will be made. All payments are suspended from Monday 6 July 2026, so you won't be charged again.

When will Charge HQ close, and what happens until then?

Charge HQ will close on Monday 7 September 2026. You'll have free access until then, so there's no rush to figure out your next step.

Your data

What happens to my charging history and data?

You can download your charging history any time before 7 September. Once Charge HQ closes, all personal data, including payment details and equipment connection credentials, will be permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymised, non-identifiable charging data may be retained.

Will my charger or EV stop working when Charge HQ closes?

No, your charger or EV will keep working as normal. You may need to restore it to its default charging behaviour, and your charger or EV manufacturer can help with this if needed.
