I’ve just added a battery to my setup - do I need to tell Amber?

If this is your first time enrolling a battery, please check the enrolment FAQ for your battery brand.

In almost all cases, your SmartShift profile will update automatically — so there’s no action needed.

You may need to take action if:

  • You have a Sungrow system contact us so we can manually add the new capacity. Please tell us the total storage capacity of your system after the addition.

  • You’ve installed a new inverter with the battery — you can add the device yourself in the Amber app:

    1. Open the Amber app on your smartphone.

    2. Tap Devices and navigate to the Plan section.

    3. Scroll to the bottom and tap SmartShift Settings.

    4. Tap Add another device and complete the form with the device details.

  • You’ve added a new battery to an existing setup where the inverter is already enrolled for solar curtailment only.
For example, if you have a SolarEdge system enrolled for solar curtailment and you add a SolarEdge battery, you may need need to contact us so we can update or re-enrol your system to include the new battery data.
