There are a few ways to control how your car charges through Amber, from adjusting the charge speed to setting a maximum battery level. Here's how to set each one up.
Max charge rate
You can set your maximum charge rate (speed) in the Amber app. This is useful if you need to limit the draw to avoid tripping your circuit breaker.
- Head to the Amber for EVs settings in the Devices tab
- Select "EV charging management" then Edit Controls
- Adjust the max charge speed per phase
Max charge percentage
You can't yet set a maximum charge percentage through the Amber app, but our automated charging will respect the limit you've set in your car's own app.
For example, if you only want your car charged to 80%, set that as your limit in the Tesla app (or your vehicle's equivalent). Amber will stop charging once it reaches that level.
Three-phase charger
If you have a three-phase charger, make sure you've updated this in the Home Setup settings in the Amber app. This helps us send the right charging commands for your setup.
