How can I limit my car's max charge rate and %?

You can now set your max charge rate/ speed in the Amber app settings. This can help to avoid tripping your circuit breaker if this is an issue at your site.

1. Head to the Amber for EV settings in the devices tab

2. Select "EV Charging Management" Edit Controls.

3. Adjust the Max Charge Speed per phase.

Max Charge %

While you can set the max charge rate (in A), you can not yet set the max charge % in terms of battery capacity you want your car charged to via the Amber app. However, Amber's automated charging will respect the maximum charge percentage in your car's settings (e.g. via the Tesla app).

As an example, if you want us to only charge your car to let's say 80% of your EV battery capacity, head to your car app and adjust the max charge % in the settings. Amber will then only charge your car up to 80%.

Three Phase charger

Let us know if you have a three phase charger via the Home Setup settings in the Amber app. This will inform the charging commands we can send.
