Tesla is changing the ways we can ask for Location Permissions. This means you explicitly need to provide authorisation for us to receive Location data from your vehicle.
How do we use Location data?
Location data is used to detect whether your car is either home or away. We do NOT store your location in our database, we only store a simple yes/no indicating whether you are currently at your home. This is important in making sure we have control when your car’s at home and we can manage the charging and then back-off control and not interrupt any charging away from home - at a Supercharger or elsewhere.
Without this permission, we cannot automatically manage your car’s charging when at home.
