OCPP, as Amber uses the term, refers to a way of communicating with wall chargers, receiving information and sending commands.
- OCPP stands for Open Charge Point Protocol, and is a globally accepted communication standard used by hundreds of companies worldwide, enabling communication between hardware and software components of EV charging infrastructure.
- To learn if your charger uses OCPP, please refer to your manufacturer’s documentation.
We’re currently testing OCPP-compatible wall-chargers.
- Each charger brand complies with OCPP slightly differently, and this means that when we test with an OCPP charger we haven’t worked with before, we usually have to make a few small adjustments to work smoothly with it.
- We have a small and growing number of OCPP-chargers onboarded, and we’re looking for more!
- If you have an OCPP-compatible wall charger, we’d love it if you could help us test.
- To do this, in the Amber app navigate to Settings. Through the Amber for EVs Beta Entrance you can join the Smart-Charger waitlist and register your interest there.
