Energy Bill Relief Rebate 2024-25

Follow

The Australian Government is providing $3.5 billion to extend and expand the Energy Bill Relief Fund and provide electricity bill rebates to all Australian households and eligible small business electricity customers in 2024-25 to ease cost of living pressures. This builds on the $1.5 billion available for energy rebates provided by the Commonwealth in 2023-24 under the existing fund. You can find more information about the energy bill relief fund extension here.

  • All Australian households will receive a $300 rebate and eligible small businesses $325 from the Australian Government, to be paid in quarterly instalments on your electricity bill throughout 2024-25.
  • All eligible Queensland households will receive a $1000 Cost of Living Rebate (CoLR) in 2024-25. The rebate will be applied automatically to eligible residential customers’ electricity accounts as a lump sum credit from 1 July 2024.
  • All eligible Queensland small businesses will receive a $325 Small Business Rebate (rebate) in 2024-25. The rebate will be applied automatically to eligible small business customers’ electricity accounts as a lump sum credit from 1 July 2024.

How will Amber apply the Energy Bill Relief Rebate?

  • If you are an Amber customer on the eligibility date then the rebate will automatically be applied to your account in quarterly instalments or a lump sum for the QLD Cost of Living Rebate.
  • The rebate will appear under the 'Credit' section of your Amber invoice. The team is still working on applying the rebate to customer's account and will have it applied by 31 July. If the rebate is missing on your July invoice then it will appear on your next invoice.
  • If your invoice is in credit then this will automatically roll over into your next invoice.
  • We will send an email once the rebate has been applied to your account.
